Wedding Weekend(s)

PART TWO:

The very next weekend we went back to Wichita for the wedding. Jason had to work on Saturday morning, but the wedding wasn’t until 6pm so we had plenty of time to make it. We got to my parents house around 3 and Jason decided he had enough time to go work out, so I just relaxed for a bit and then started to get ready. We rushed over to Chris’s house to meet him and Debbie (his girlfriend) so we could all four ride together. We made it just in time for the wedding and it was very nice. They had it at the Scottish Rite so the wedding/reception was all in the same place.

Once the ceremony was over, the boys began to drink (and some even tried to dance, that’s right I said tried). It was so different for me to sit back and just watch as they all had a few. It’s one of those moments where you ask yourself, “is that how we really act, really???” Not that they were being out-of-control (well, maybe a few of the boys were), but what a new perspective. As the night came to an end, everyone decided to go downtown, the bride and groom wanted to go to America’s Pub, and since it was their night, we went to the Pub.

Let me just say this, if I had taken my car separate I would have just headed home. Something about being pregnant and at a bar/club just doesn’t seem right, but I didn’t have my car and I had to be a trooper. Besides I was the DD.

After about 20 minutes in the Pub and no bride or groom we decided to leave and head to the Brickyard and after they had a drink we went to Heroes, they had a drink there and then we left. We tried to eat at IHop, but ended up leaving and going to Burger King instead (drunk cowboys, never a good thing).

So it’s about 3am when Jason and I get back to my parents house, remember he’s been drinking and I haven’t had anything but diet soda and water! Before we left my mom asked if we needed her to pull the trundle bed out for us and I told her not to worry about it (BIG MISTAKE!!!). As Jason starts to pull the trundle out I notice that he’s getting pretty frustrated, not only was it was getting caught on the area rug, but he was trying to lift it and hadn’t even pulled it out all the way. Again, he was pretty frustrated, so I step in and help him get it completely pulled out so he could lift it.

As he finished, I jumped in the shower… yes, it’s like 3:30am now and I’m in the shower (I have to be clean to sleep). As I’m doing my thing, all the sudden I hear this loud BANG!!! Immediately I know what the noise is (I’ve heard it before) and start cracking up, I had tears rolling down my face from laughing so hard!!! Turns out when Jason lifted the bed he must not have locked it and even though I wasn’t there to see it I can picture it to a tee. He apparently was sitting on the bed looking for the remote and it just collapsed!!! Remember, he was already frustrated and ready to go to bed!!! TOO FUNNY!!! I’m still laughing about it as I type this.

We finally made it to bed and had a great weekend with friends and family, but that trundle bed definitely has 1 up on Jason!!! LOL.

Wedding Weekend(s)

PART ONE:

A few weekends ago we traveled back to Wichita so that Jason could attend a friends bachelor party on Saturday night. Since we hadn’t been back since Christmas there were a lot of friends and family to see.

I’m not sure if everyone knows this about me, but I’m not a fan of Taco Bell (I’ll eat it if there is no other choice) or Taco Bueno (no bueno). So as you can imagine Jason and I don’t eat fast food Mexican very often here in KC because those are the ONLY two options we have. All I really wanted while we were back in Wichita was to eat at Taco Shop. So on Saturday I got my hair cut and was planning on meeting a friend for lunch on Saturday (I’d been thinking about it since Wednesday when we decided). As I’m almost to Taco Shop she calls to tell me that its closed (not something you should tell a pregnant woman when she’s been wanting it for days)!!! I was so heartbroken, it was hilarious!!! I told her just to meet me at Taco Tico (what can I say – I needed my fast food Mexican fix and I needed it FAST). It was YUMMY!!!

After Taco Tico my mom and I went to see my sister’s new house (beautiful) and then visited my grandma. On Sunday Jason and I ate lunch at his grandma’s house with his whole family, so while it was a BUSY weekend it was great to see everyone!!!

Kicking or Gas?

I’m about 20 weeks now and I’m finally starting to feel the baby move and kick, either that or I’m having some pretty funky gas bubbles (bubble guts as my cousin would say). It’s the coolest feeling EVER!!! While I’m sure this won’t give it justice, it feels like little gas bubbles in your tummy!!! I’m pretty sure that last Saturday was the first time I finally realized what it was, my sister was staying at our house (long story... New York, crazy women, 31, missed a flight, snowstorm, power outage… LOL) and she let me know that it wasn’t gas and it was probably the baby. So for the past week I’ve been paying more attention and now I know that it’s definitely the baby!!! VERY PRECIOUS!!!

Long Night

Just so we have it posted. Jason and I had a pretty big scare about 4 weeks ago (16 weeks), I started bleeding pretty heavy around 10:30 at night and we went right to the emergency room. They ran every test they could think of just to make sure everything was fine. I have never been more scared in my life, I was a complete mess. Jason was amazing, he was very strong and kept telling me everything was going to be okay. I know he was just as scared, but he held it together for me and for the baby. He’s my hero!!! We didn’t leave until 4:30 in the morning, the doctor said everything looked fine and just to follow up with my personal doctor the next day.

The ONLY great/amazing/wonderful thing about that night was that we got to see the baby!!! AND, it actually looked like a little baby, the spine, the arms and legs, the heart, it was AMAZING!!!

While we didn’t find out (then) if the baby was a boy or a girl, we did find out that the baby is VERY stubborn (like daddy, LOL). It refused to let us get a look and sat Indian style the entire time!!! Too funny!!! When the tech pushed on my belly to try and get it to move, it put its little hand up as if it was saying, “talk to the hand”. Really, how cute is that? We all started laughing!!! I’m so in love already, I can’t wait to meet the little one!!!
