Getting Ready...

This last few weeks I have slowly been trying to get "ready" (yeah right, as if anyone could be ready for this). BUT, I started washing her clothes and getting things out that we need... packing the hospital bag... ya know, all that good stuff. I can't believe how small her clothes are... I just can't imagine that our little girl will actually be small enough to wear these tiny outfits!!! I mean this is Jason's little girl and he almost weighed 9lbs. (although, he was a month late, which WILL NOT be happening, LOL)!!!

Anyway, just thought I'd give an update and post some pictures of our fancy travel system... it's a jogging stroller, which I'm so EXCITED about!!!

If anyone (Arica and Traci) has any hints on what to bring to the hospital... let's have um...

Jason looking over the instructions... can you believe it... I was sure he was going to try and just "figure it out".

All we need now is our beautiful little girl...

Oh it all looks so cute!

Ok... for the list- three bags- one for you, one for baby and one for all the crap you will get from the hospital and from family and friends. Also bring a big cardboard box you can put flowers and balloons in for your drive home from the hospital.

For baby, you won't need much other than an outfit to come home in or for hospital baby pictures- the hospital provides it all while you are there (and take as much as you can from the in room crib storage (blankets, diapers, formula- you are paying for it!) You might need baby nail clippers- the hospital usually doesn't provide those for liability reasons. There are lots of lists online if you are wondering about other stuff. Oh- our hospital only used off-brand lotion and powder, so if you want name brand like Johnson and Johnson used, bring it and tell them. Also do your research and know if you will supplement with Similac or Enfamil, as if you need to supplement before your milk comes in, they will ask which on you prefer while you are there.

For you, bring plenty of undies and nursing bras. Bring your own comfy pillows (with an old pillow case that can get ruined) and bring sheets and pillows for Jason (Josh was so grossed out by the bleech smelling ones the hospital provided).I packed a bunch of clothes but ended up only needing an oufit to go home in (make sure it is maternity), as I wore the hospital gowns/robes the whole time. Also, try to get a hand breast pump (your insurance pays for it) and if you get stitches 'you know where' get as many of the round 'wipes' they have for you and numbing spray and free maxi pads (that stuff if expensive and adds up and you might as well 'borrow' as much as you can from the hospital!)...

Hope this helps, call me if you have any questions, I have more ideas but this comment is getting long!! Good luck!!!!!
