28 Weeks

Jason and I finally started our registry!!! WHOO HOO!!! Yesterday we went to Target and Babies R Us, it was a LONG day & my feet were VERY MAD by the time we were done, but it was worth it... I think we picked some pretty good stuff... I think. I really have no idea, since this is our first baby my sister is going back with me and I'll adjust if I need too... I mean - really I didn't know what half the stuff was and Jason was too busy with the "gun" so I was kinda on my own as to what we picked... BOYS!!! LOL!!!

Arica... Tracy... what should be on my registry for sure???

This week we have another doctor's appt. and Saturday we have our "Birth Class" so I'll have some updates then too... I can't wait to see how Jason reacts to the class... he has NO IDEA!!!

Here are some pics at 28 weeks...

The biggest waste of money for us was the small receiving blankets. We swaddled for a long time but I used larger ones made out of a pieces of sheets, much cooler and easier to get TIGHT! But stuff I used quite a bit....boppy (for breastfeeding), cloth diapers for burp rags, pacifers (try all kinds to find the one she likes), OMG....can't believe I didn't lead with this one a SWING!!!!! And one that sings back and forth AND side to side....Brody slept is his swing ALOT! I could go on and on...call me! I heard back the house.......

Great Pics! Your belly looks so cute, all baby! I totally agree- get a good large swing- we got an expensive but portable smaller one and it was not very good. I would not buy alot of pacy's or bottles until you know what she likes. I got a ton of different kinds of pacy's and he never took one kind. Total waste. Just try one kind at atime, and the hospital will give you a few to start with. And I wasted alot of money and registry room on bottles I liked, but he did not. I would just get one or two single bottles of one kind at a time. I never used my bottle or wipe warmer once. I used my Diaper Genie for a few months, but could never really figure it out that well, next time I won't even bother. Get a pack n play WITH a bassinet AND changing table, when you are not in the nursery you will use that a lot at first in your living area after she is too big for the basinet in your room. THICK bath towels, not the thin ones. Baby washrags WITHOUT the thick tooling along the edges (the cheap ones are much better, that have to round edge). Blinds for the car- don't forget the big back window, and a mirror for the back seat so you can see her when you drive, cause you will want to be able to. Eddie Bauer makes nice onces, at Target.com Also a neck support for the carseat, their little necks have no strength in those things for the first few months. Music/CDS for bedtime- always have background music when you put her to sleep, even if it is just a fan, it will make her a much better, more sound sleeper quicker. One thing I always needed and never had were just little pants and long sleeved button front (some cross) shirts to throw over onsies. White is what I always wanted. The hospital will give you one of these two- try to get acouple if you can. I could never find them in the store. I agree, not too many receiving blankets, like 4-6 are plenty, but lots of thick warm blankets to throw on her- an outdoor stroller blanket- (I got mine at KidsPotteryBarn for this 15 bucks and loved it- still do!) it was so versatile. Get lots of storage bins in all sizes, plastic cheap ones are great. They can add up though, so it might be nice to register for them. I have honestly bought 6 huge ones (and lots of smaller ones) for just his stuff over the last year! She will grow out of baby clothes, bibs, toys, blankets, etc fast, so put a large bin in her closet floor and just put them directly in there after they are washed when she gets too big for them. Soak clothes RIGHT away (Oxy Clean Baby is best- look for the pink lid) as formula will mold and stain after just a day or so of not being cleaned. If you are nursing you can not have enough nursing pads for your bra or milk freezer bags. Poopy diaper bags for the diaper bag and your purse when you are on the go. A small compact wipe holder for your purse. Oh there are so many things I could go and on. Email me at tracidillavou@hotmail.com if you want me to tell you more :) Good luck!
