HAPPY 25TH TO ME!

(This is my attempt to get caught up on my blog - at least I'm going to try)

I'm taking you all back to August 14, 2009. I was 39 weeks pregnant and lets just say READY TO GET THE SHOW ON THE ROAD!!! After going to the hospital on the 9th for contractions (which I was sent home) I was sure I was going to be pregnant FOREVER!!!

August 9th update: I woke up at 6:30am having contractions, Jason was in bed and I woke him up to tell him that it had started, it was a TERRIBLE time for him with his job so he started talking to my belly, telling our baby girl to "SLOW DOWN". All I was thinking was you better shut your mouth, I'm ready for this to be OVER!!! So we loaded up the car around 9am and drove to the hospital only to be told that we had to go back home, it wasn't time. They watched me for an hour and I didn't change, so YIPPIE!!! I was still pregnant!!!

Flash forward back to the 14th - my birthday. It was Friday and I was at home (my parents house) hanging out watching T.V. when my friend Amy called me on the phone. I was having contractions all week, but they would come and go. This morning was no different. While I was talking to her... a HUGE one hit!!! I got down on my knees and all I could hear was Amy yelling "BREATH, JUST BREATH" - really, breath - that was the last thing on my mind. I was so excited!!! I wanted to share my birthday with my beautiful baby girl... let's face it, I'm no longer going to have a B-Day anyway so why not just have her on my actual B-Day... It seemed like it was going to happen. I called Jason to let him know it was time and he was in a meeting. He was on his way home when all of the sudden the contractions STOPPED!!! I was about sick of this maybe, maybe not game. It wasn't funny at all!!! When he got home we went to Target to walk around, it was our attempt to get the show on the road. NO LUCK!!!

So after a few hours we headed back home to get ready for dinner, my parents were taking us out for my B-Day!!! I was feeling like poo, but I went anyway. So here are the pictures from my B-Day... who knew our baby girl would be in our arms the very next day..

Check out the baby bump!

Our family was about to get a little bigger...
in exactly 27 hours!!!

My mom and Dad... thanks for my B-Day dinner!!!

Strawberry Cake... YUMMY!!!

Just look how BIG I was... I can't believe it!!!

I'm pretty sure the picture speaks for itself...
but yes, those are flip flop lines...

PRE-LABOR SUCKS!!! BRING IT ON ALREADY!!!

The past week I have been in what some would call "pre-labor"... well... it just SUCKS!!! I'm so uncomfortable!!! My back aches all the time, I have cramps and my stomach gets hard as a rock!!! Oh, and I can't even begin to tell you about the pain in my... you know... hopefully soon she'll grace us with her presence!!! I keep telling her there is more room on the outside... LOL!!! Her little butt is ALWAYS in my ribs.

As most of you know Jason and I are building our first house (cross your fingers everything goes as planned) so while it's being built we are living with my parents. Our close date is November 5th. Below are some pictures of our cute little room... YES, it's cozy, but I think it's going to work just fine AND once the house is done it'll all be worth it. More to come on the house later.

This is our bed, my mom usually has a twin... that wasn't going to work. Oh, and she made this into her "Little house on the Prairie" room (she loves old stuff) so that's what the bedding and decor is all about...

The cradle that she found at an estate sale. She bought for when we would come to visit... turns out it came in more handy then we would have ever thought!!!

Our real wooden rocking chair that I found at a garage sale for $5.00!!! My mom stained it to match the crib stain we picked (more on that to come). AND all our bags packed and ready to go... JUST WAITING ON HER!!!

Her dresser, also found at a garage sale with the matching night stand, $60.00 total. My mom also fixed these pieces right up... SHE'S GREAT!!! I'll post before & after pictures soon... you can't believe the difference!!!

Her changing table, also found at a garage sale $25.00. It was white... until my mom got her hands on it!!! AGAIN, SHE'S GREAT!!!

Don't think I need to say anything about this pic...

The Belly

Jason and I had some professional photos taken (and some my mom took) of us and my belly... I really wanted to have good pictures to remember this CRAZY, WONDERFUL, SCARY, BEAUTIFUL time in our life. Here are a few that I have... all but one are in black & white, I just love the way pregnancy photos look in black & white... ENJOY!

37 weeks... YIKES!!!

I went to the doctor on Tuesday for my weekly check-up. Everything looks good. I lost a pound!!! So I guess the little princess is done growing, which is fine by me... these last few days have been AWFUL!!! I just feel like my belly can't stretch anymore AND it's so HARD and HEAVY!!! It just hurts!!!

I'm pretty sure I told him that either he could take her or I would... and he said he'd give me his scalpel (didn't go like I thought AND hoped, LOL)!!!

Anyway, I'm 1 and a half centimeters dilated and 75% effaced (sorry if that's TMI). So all those "fake" contractions, which by the way aren't SO fake... they still hurt... maybe not that bad, but I wouldn't call them fake... it sounds like a joke and let me tell you... NOTHING is funny about this!!!

So that's good news. Oh, and the doctor said that he didn't think she was a very big baby... so more good news... I'll just hope for that.

Baby Shower

A few weekends ago... (I told you about me and updates) I had my baby showers!!! They were SO much fun!!! It was great to see family and friends and just hang out. Our little girl got lots of GREAT things and now mommy and daddy feel a bit better about her arrival!!!

Here are some pictures from the shower my sister gave me (Jason's aunt Linda also gave me a shower, but I don't have any pics from that one yet).

Me and my mama!

My sister and two cousins:
Cristin, Amy and Ashley

My friends: Arica and Sarah
(we missed you... Christina, Jess and Traci)

My best friend Brody!!! I love him!!!

OH YEAH!!! And I got the coolest gift... a baby food maker!!! It cooks and blends the food all in one!!! My friend Sarah and I were so excited we made carrots at the shower!!!
They tasted just like carrots (DUH, we were so scared to try them...LOL)!!!

Getting Ready...

This last few weeks I have slowly been trying to get "ready" (yeah right, as if anyone could be ready for this). BUT, I started washing her clothes and getting things out that we need... packing the hospital bag... ya know, all that good stuff. I can't believe how small her clothes are... I just can't imagine that our little girl will actually be small enough to wear these tiny outfits!!! I mean this is Jason's little girl and he almost weighed 9lbs. (although, he was a month late, which WILL NOT be happening, LOL)!!!

Anyway, just thought I'd give an update and post some pictures of our fancy travel system... it's a jogging stroller, which I'm so EXCITED about!!!

If anyone (Arica and Traci) has any hints on what to bring to the hospital... let's have um...

Jason looking over the instructions... can you believe it... I was sure he was going to try and just "figure it out".

All we need now is our beautiful little girl...
